If you’re checking out LifeVantage as a home based business opportunity, here is some information you might find helpful.

The LifeVantage Business

As always, you look at management and product when you start investigating any MLM business. LifeVantage began as a retail operation with some good science behind it. After an initial surge in 2005, sales dropped in the retail environment. In 2009 the company was re-invented as a Network Marketing company. LifeVantage Sales have undergone an impressive increase, and their stock price has tripled after a low in 2008. The president and CEO is David Brown. He was formerly with Metabolife, which got out of the MLM business in 2002. What works for one company doesn’t necessarily work for another.

The LifeVantage claim to fame is unique anti-aging products. The science behind the products seems to bear this out. There has been meticulous clinical research and peer reviewed studies. One report said that 20 universities have begun studies that will look at the primary product and its link to anti-aging and disease.

The major LifeVantage product is called Protandim, and it does have a unique feature. It is not an antioxidant supplement. Everything else in the anti-aging arena is a supplement. Protandim will help the body start its own natural processes which combat free radicals and produce an anti-aging effect. Clinical studies appear to have shown that this natural process is several times more efficient than supplementation.  The LifeVantage website has access to all the research and information.

From a marketing perspective, this is a very good thing for LifeVantage. It creates a USP – Unique Selling Proposition. Most sales and marketing people spend a lot of time trying to develop a USP; something that distinguishes you from the competition. To be honest, a USP is something that most MLM companies do not have. But having a USP is one thing, and being able to communicate that difference is quite another. For instance, look at all the MLM juice companies. Do you think they are all the same, or is there really a difference in one or two of them?  If you are not sure, you see the problem.

There is another product from LifeVantage. It is a skin care product called TrueScience. It is a topical skin cream with the same characteristics as Protandim. Both products are very fairly priced, and the LifeVantage product line is easy to understand. Two products, one concept.

LifeVantage Compensation and Costs

LifeVantage has an initial start-up cost of about $600, and of course there is a monthly auto-ship. You can make money from retail sales of the product and through residual income from your downline team. As an added bonus, the top producers will get 20,000 shares of LifeVantage stock. Part of the comp plan goes down to 9 levels, and there is a coded bonus through infinite depth. This is about as much comp plan jargon that you need to see here. Understand that it is a good plan, and details can come from a LifeVantage distributor.

If you are wondering about legality and how regulators would look at LifeVantage, rest easy. The comp plan pays commission only on product sales. Regulators like this. The more preferred customers you have, the less of the product you have to buy and stock. Another thing regulators like is more customers than distributors. LifeVantage has this too, and that makes charges of “illegal pyramid scheme” much less likely.

LifeVantage is a very good company, but they don’t teach you everything you need to know to effectively market the products. You will need the proper marketing knowledge to make this excellent opportunity work.  This is the information they don’t give you. It will increase your chances of success by targeting the prospects you want to talk to. A top Attraction Marketing System will teach you the marketing techniques that will allow you to generate your own leads online. Master Attraction marketing and become a success in your LifeVantage business.
