When people say they have no money, they often mean they don’t have much money. Or they mean they spend all they make. Sometimes they really do mean they have no money. These are two very different things. If you actually mean it when you say you have no money at all, then starting an MLM business is probably not going to happen.
An MLM or Network Marketing business costs less to start than just about any other type of business. You are starting a business, and this costs some money, even in an MLM,. Not much compared to a traditional business, but it isn’t free. Just because an MLM costs some money is not a reason for suspicion. In fact, most people would be suspicious of an MLM that did not cost anything. The idea of an absolutely free business is too good to be true. But if you want to talk low cost, then MLM is right there.
Ongoing costs are something many people overlook when starting any kind of home based business. But there will be some monthly costs involved. Usually they end up buying MLM leads, and if that doesn’t work quickly, they start spending money they don’t have. The biggest reason people leave an MLM company is that their marketing costs exceed their income. The second biggest reason is time. Either they have no time at all, or they don’t organize it well enough to create time for a business at home. Time is a resource just like money. It has to be spent wisely.
There are MLM marketing systems available that are designed to create early income to help pay for marketing. There again, these aren’t free either. But like Network Marketing itself, it isn’t expensive when compared to creating your own one-of-a-kind marketing system. If you want to market offline one on one, there are still costs like sales literature and CD’s/DVD’s and your MLM company’s online back office.
The point is this. You can get into an MLM business and do your marketing for not much money. But there is a cost. How much do you really have available? If you are spending all you make, is it really necessary to do that? It’s not a good idea even if you don’t want to start a business. Is that how you want to spend the rest of your life? Take a hard look at where your money goes. Maybe the reason you have no money is that you spend it all on expensive coffee, a car you can’t afford and clubs 3-4 nights a week. I’m not judging here, but only you can determine your priorities and see if you are able to start your own business. If you are in a situation you’d like to change, think about how to make the change. Do you have a trusted friend or family member you could talk to about how to budget your spending? There’s no shame in asking for help. Then you can make an informed decision.
